The Push and Pull of Motherhood

Do any of you feel a constant push and pull as a mother? Because I do. I have four beautiful children ages 11 to 11 months. Every second of my life is full. It’s messy and loud and so full of love and joy and lack of sleep that some days I just want to cry. I miss reading. And sitting. And thinking. It’s amazing too though. The best really. My story as a Grandparent of a Child with Autism

We never really sounded out letters too much; just what Kindergarten taught her. But one day she magically just started to read and loves it. But there are behavior issues that will wear me down. Anywhere we go, I constantly watch her. I don’t leave her alone. I did take…

Autism From a Grandparent’s Perspective

My youngest granddaughter is visiting this weekend. I have six of these treasures ranging from ages 10 to 18. I adore them. I probably have ten thousand pictures on my computer of zoo trips and vacations and holidays and amusement parks and ordinary days. I LOVE being their “Grangie”. However, a visit from my youngest, Grandgirl #4, (GG 4) requires strategic planning.…
