Thank You

Thank you for Making our 4th Annual Care for the Caregiver Retreat a Life Changing Event.

Thank you. Amanda and I use those two words often, but they never quite seem to be enough.

As we think back on our second annual caregiver retreat, we are filled with so much gratitude that it’s hard to properly express it in words.

Last year we held our first caregiver retreat and served just over 100 female caregivers. This past April, we had nearly 250 women join us in Minnesota for two days of programming.

When I think back to 2022 and remember how unsure we felt, wondering how this community would respond to our first ever in-person retreat of this kind – we are in awe.  The feedback we received was that the event was life changing on many levels. It was needed. It was loved. It was appreciated.

Whether you made a cash donation, attended the retreat, or gave an item for the giveaways, YOU helped us change the lives of these women. For this, we thank you.

While we celebrate the fundraising success of the evening, we must also give thanks to those behind the scenes. The months and days leading up to an event like this are filled with hours upon hours of hard work. It is in those days and hours that we once again recognize the true heart of the people who made this event possible. Thank you to Theresa Duffy for all the hours of hard work you put in to make this event happen. And to those who helped us gather items for giveaways, pack swag bags, transport items, and more. Thank you. We couldn’t have done this without you.

Stay tuned for updates on our 2024 Care for the Caregiver retreat.  Hope to see you all there again. And check our foundation page for information about our upcoming camp retreat at Moon Beach.

Our first caregiver retreat served just over 100 female caregivers. At the second, we had nearly 225 women join us in Minnesota for two days of programming. And now this year. Over 250 beautiful souls joined us in San Antonio, Texas.

Dear caregivers,

Thank you for joining us!

Thank you to those who attended this retreat. While that sounds so simple, we know that it is not. As special needs moms ourselves, we truly understand just how challenging it is to get away and prioritize our own mental health. So, thank you. Your presence here is everything.

When we created The More Than Project, we had one goal in mind. We wanted to help caregivers. We never want any mom to feel as alone as we did in the beginning of this journey. Over the last few years, we have stayed true to our mission by providing two in-person retreats a year. Every September we bring over a hundred moms to the shores of Moon Beach in St. Germain, Wisconsin and in the spring, provide an even larger retreat. Last year brought us to South Hill, Virginia. A huge thank you to Mandi Calhoun and Families Embracing Autism Together for the beautiful experience.

The few days we shared together were created for you. Our hope was that you shared your story. Mad a friend. Put yourself out there. Took a nap. Went for a walk. Rested. Danced. We hope you did something that brought you joy. Remember, you are not alone on this journey. There are so many of us out here walking similar paths. Our hope is that you see that now.

-All our love.

Holiday Inn San Antonio - River Walk

We want to give an extra special thank you to the Holiday Inn San Antonio, River Walk. As a group who hosts large events often, we have to say that this was the best place we have ever had an event. The venue was gorgeous, the staff treated us so kindly, and truly understood the importance of our event.

We met our team upon arrival, and they were available from start to finish to support and help us.

Thank you, Holiday Inn San Antonio. You are the best!

Missed the event? You can still order event clothing!

The More Than Project is a nonprofit organization that focuses on supporting caregivers. In order to do our mission, we fundraise throughout the year. An excellent way to support us is by ordering one of our shirts, sweatshirts, or hats. All of the proceeds go towards putting on events like this one and ultimately helping caregivers.

Thank you for believing in our mission!
