Break the Silence

cooper 5

This amazing kid just absolutely rocked the grocery store!

He walked. Pushed the cart. Followed the list. Put items in the cart. Handled temptation.

I am seriously giddy!

We have been practicing grocery store trips for about a year now. At first our only goal was walking through the store…not even buying anything.

And slowly we built on his skills.

Today we did a whole shopping trip!

Video coming!

Parents, I hope Cooper gives you hope and shows you what hard work can do. A year ago I didn’t think he’d ever be able to go into a store.

And while we still have a lot to work to do…today we celebrate.

We choose to break the silence. This is our autism and we will share it with the world. Unapologetically. And proudly.

Finding Cooper’s Voice is a safe, humorous, caring and honest place where you can celebrate the unique challenges of parenting a special needs child. Because you’re never alone in the struggles you face. And once you find your people, your allies, your village….all the challenges and struggles will seem just a little bit easier. Welcome to our journey. You can also follow us on Facebook, subscribe for exclusive videos, and subscribe to our newsletter.
