It Will Always Be You and Me

You and me Murph.

We’ve been what each other need throughout this journey of Autism.

On the good days we celebrate together. On the bad days we survive together. On the average days we manage to find something extraordinary together.

On the days you slip away, I wait for you, and on the days when frustration and self doubt cause me to disappear, you manage to show me it’s going to be okay.

You wait for me too, Murph and never think differently of me, even on my worst days.

You’re there to start fresh with me each morning, and we end each day together.

You’re my leader, backbone, and motivation to continue on this sometimes seemingly impossible journey. You skip ahead of me at just the right times when our destination seems so far out of sight.

I’ll always be there to carry you on the days when this journey gets the best of you and lead you back to our path.

You’ve taught me more about myself than any other person.

I’m a different person from when we started this journey, and I have you alone to thank for that. You’ve shown me who and what are truly important in life.

You are the bravest little boy I know and I’m so lucky to be your Mom.

You and me Murph.

It will always be you and me.
