The Calm to Their Chaos

canva

Life has slowed down over here. We are so used to running to and from, in and out.

But we don’t mind. Because we have a baby to hold and snuggle.

Sawyer and Harbie fight over who gets to hold her next. Harbie insists she is his baby. Sawyer, being a mature 8, refuses to argue but also insists that she is his.

And Cooper, he is still taking his time.

I know he’s proud though because this morning he tapped me on the shoulder to get my attention, and pointed to his iPad screen.

Baby Elmo was smiling away. Cooper pointed to his sister and clapped. He knows.

He may not be throwing his hat in the ring to hold her and that’s okay. Because he knows. He’s a boy of few words.

Pretty lucky little girl if you ask me. She seems like she is going to be the calm to their chaos.

Finding Cooper’s Voice is a safe, humorous, caring and honest place where you can celebrate the unique challenges of parenting a special needs child. Because you’re never alone in the struggles you face. And once you find your people, your allies, your village….all the challenges and struggles will seem just a little bit easier.
