A Perfect World For My Son

I think a lot about the things that make this kid happy. And bring him joy. Because for a lot of years, the list was pretty small. It’s gotten bigger though, thankfully.

If I was to build a world for him, one that was entirely for him…what would it look like?

Well, it would be full of color. Bright reds and blues and yellows. Our clothes would all be bright too. Our houses and the objects inside as well.

Music would always be playing. Happy, fun, LOUD music. We would dance a lot too. And twirl.

Everyone would wave at back at him because waving is his favorite.

His whole family, grandparents and all, would live together in one house.

His brother would always share a room with him.

Naps would be required. And waking up very, very early.

There would be paper everywhere. And soft fleece blankets.

Starbucks confetti cookies would be a food staple.

Tickling and wrestling would be perfectly acceptable pastimes…anywhere and everywhere.

He would never have to wait.

Everyone would understand him and talking wouldn’t be required.

Amazon would come every day. The WiFi would always work. And kindles would never die.

We would all appreciate the beauty of a good train.

And differences would be accepted and celebrated. His world sounds pretty great to me. Except for the waking up early part.
