Hi friends! Here is a good ole fashioned Super Cooper and Kate update. We haven’t done one in a while! Cooper is healthy, happy, sleeping and working on many different skills in ABA. He’s specifically working on pairing two sounds together!

I want people to know that yes, I get caught up in the struggles that go hand-in-hand with parenting. And especially parenting a child with special needs. But, what matters most, is my son’s happiness. And this kid treats every day like it’s the best day of his life. I can’t even tell you how thankful I am for that.

Take a watch of our latest video! You can really get a glimpse into his language and silliness.

Finding Cooper’s Voice is a safe, humorous, caring and honest place where you can celebrate the unique challenges of parenting a special needs child. Because you’re never alone in the struggles you face. And once you find your people, your allies, your village….all the challenges and struggles will seem just a little bit easier. Welcome to our journey. You can also follow us on Facebook and subscribe to our newsletter.

Kate launched Finding Cooper's Voice from her couch while her now 11-year-old son Cooper was being diagnosed with autism. Back then it was a place to write. Today it is a living, thriving community of people who want to not only advocate for autism, but also make the world a better place for individuals with disabilities and their families. Her first book, Forever Boy, will be released, April 5, 2022.

I am not a naturally optimistic person. My darkest hours tend to stretch much longer than I would like. Just wanted to say that I appreciate your refreshing honesty and candor.

I believe we do a disservice to all parents when we don’t openly acknowledge that it is hard. Every. Darn. Day. Not completely devoid of joy, happiness and celebrations of all kinds of achievements, but, yes. Every day is hard. I believe not unashamedly acknowledging the deep and steep challenges of our everyday lives contributes to the “confusion” you speak of, the dissonant feeling of “everyone else in this situation appears so capable and happy, why am I not capable and happy??” So, thank you for your honesty. Much needed and much appreciated.

So happy to have found your blog and FB site…keep up the hard work. Just one day at a time ❤️?

You are the most inspiring woman I have ever met. You are face of strength! Your love for your son is so evident. The joy on your face when you speak of him is priceless. He is beyond fortunate to have you as his Mother and greatest advocate!!
