DESCRIPTION:SAVE THE DATE! \nFinding Cooper’s Voice and The More Than Project are excited to announce our second annual Mother’s Day in Minnesota. This two-day event is for mothers of children with any disability or special need. As primary caretakers\, caregivers are at serious risk of burnout. Nineteen research studies have identified parents of children with disabilities to have an increased risk for depression (95%) and anxiety (90%). The divorce rate is over 85% for parents of children with a disability. \nDuring this retreat\, every moment is carefully curated to empower moms to combat these statistics all while relaxing\, having fun\, finding community\, and equipping them to return home with the tools to best care for their child.

SUMMARY:SENSORY SATURDAY AT THE DENTAL CLINIC
DESCRIPTION:One of the many challenges children on the spectrum face is dental care. It implicates a number of sensory issues\, not to mention the behavioral and emotional challenges associated with the “traditional” dental visit. \nWe want to help autism families find regular dental care and establish good dental hygiene habits and routines. \nYou’re invited to visit a dental office staffed with dentists\, hygienists\, and assistants to look\, explore\, and ask questions (baby teeth\, permanent teeth\, crowding\, diet\, drinks\, what to do in case of emergency). Preventative dentalcare will also be provided if the child and family so desire. \nThere are no age requirements for the children who attend but would prefer to have a conversation with each family in advance to discuss your child’s sensitivities\, challenges\, and needs\, and to ensure that care at a dental office is potentially a good fit. \nPlease contact autism mom and dental hygienist Mironda Engstrom at mironda@msn.com or 612-741-5269 (call or text) to discuss your child and reserve your spot!
