My Family, I am so Lucky to have You

To My Family:

When Mason was 6 months old and I said I felt like something was “off”…you did not look at me like I was crazy.

When Mason was a year and I was nervous about his development, you did not tell me I was being ridiculous.

When Mason was 15 months old and I was freaking out that had not hit a single communication milestone, you did not tell me to “relax”.

“Boys progress slower than girls” was never said to me.

You did not roll your eyes or tell me to stop comparing him to other children.

When Mason qualified for Early Intervention at 16 months, you did not think it was stupid or overreacting.

When Mason was 18 months old and his pediatrician told me to wait until 3 years old to schedule an autism evaluation and I didn’t, you supported my decision.

When Mason was diagnosed with autism at 21 months old, you dove in head first to learn about autism and understand what it was, and understand Mason.

You supported my blog.

You have supported me every step of the way.

If I did not have you with me through those dark days, I would have never made it through.

My family, I am so lucky to have you.

Thank you.

Love,

Jill and Mason
